Tuesday, June 9, 2009 Dan McNeil Manager of Education Development American Society of Safety Engineers Dan's role is to manage ASSE’s webinar program. Prior to coming to ASSE, Dan had worked for such companies as IBM, Allstate Insurance, Thomson Corporation and United Airlines. His focus over the last 15 years has been on immersive simulations, collaborative learning and exploring technologies that can help enable the dispersion and sharing of knowledge.
On a part-time basis, Dan has also taught hybrid classes at McHenry County College, located in suburban Chicago. Classes were taught both in the physical classroom, and, on alternating weeks, in the virtual world tool known as Second Life.
Dan holds a BA in Education from Elmhurst College and an MA in Human Resource Development from Northeastern Illinois University. Dan has been a frequent speaker at learning technology conferences. In 2004, his article, “Using Digital Experiential Learning to Deliver Corporate Policy Training” appeared in the November issue of the E-Learning Guild’s E-Learning Developer’s Journal.
